Guide to golf clubsWhat are the types of golf club? Putter Iron Wood Wedge Driver Putter The putters job is to send the ball rolling into the hole. You do not need much strength here. Simply hit the ball to roll perpendicular to the hole. Iron The weight is the issue here, although the iron has the same function as the wood, but because of the different characteristics of players, the iron has more useful than the wood. The iron can move the ball as far as the wood but the iron can better arc the flight of the ball. Wood The wood's function is to hit the ball as far as possible. Thus, the club head of the wood is the biggest. Although the golf ball will go far, your swing and stroke may determine the direction of the ball. Wedge Most wedges are made from iron and is usually used to play the ball out of water or sand hazard. Again, there are many shapes of the wedge head; this is because each head has a different function. Driver The driver is made of wood; and is usualy used as first shot off the tee. You may find it difficult to start with but practice your swing and later on you will be comfortable. Of course, because different players have their favourite clubs, you will need to find yours and practice with it as much as you can. Your local golf club may help you improve your game. This is a good way to improve your game and your enjoyment of this strategic game. The choice of club is important and if you do not practice you won't improve!. In summary: This game of golf is not physically hard but it is strategic, enjoyable and sociable. Waiting at the 19th - Paul Mclaughlin. England, 2009.
