Important Things You Need To Know In Golf

GOLF is a great game. It's enjoyable, not too physical and a game of strategy! There are some points you need to know to enjoy golf.

Fitness
Although golf is not a contact sport like basketball, football etc, fitness is very important in golf. You need to be mentally and physically fit to be at your best. Fitness is not really about strength it’s about preparing your body and mind. Good fitness means your muscles, joints, hands and rest of your body and mind are well prepared.

Good Etiquette
If there ever is a gentleman’s game, it’s golf. Good golf etiquette means you don’t hold up other players, you are conscious of other players, you don’t make too much noise during the game distracting others, make sure when you swing nobody is in the way and you play in the spirit of good sportsmanship.

Golf Clubs
Generally there are 3 types, woods, irons and putters. Long distances require woods, mid distances are covered with irons. Putters are for the greens.

Golf clubs description.
1 wood is for distances of over 170 yards.
5 iron is useful for distances of about 100 yards
9 iron is good about 60 yards

The Right Swing
Golf really hinges on how good your swing is. It is the most important part of the game. The correct posture is needed to get your swing right. Your heels are supposed to be about shoulder width apart. The ball should be hit in the middle of the club face just above bottom part of the ball.

The Rules
Familiarize yourself with rules. For you to win you must follow the rules, it’s not only about getting the ball into the hole.

SUMMARY

So when are we going to get a game in then Paul? I play almost every weekend and once a month on a Wednesday. You up for it and what is your handicap?
